Arrest warrant still out for Marcus Vick

HAMPTON — Marcus Vick has not turned himself into authorities nearly two weeks after a judge issued an arrest warrant for his absence in court, based on Hampton arrests records.

Hampton Circuit Judge Wilford Taylor issued the arrest warrant for Vick Sept. 21 when Vick didn't appear for a charge of driving on a suspended license.

During the hearing Vick's attorney, Lawrence Woodward, told the judge that Vick was unemployed in Atlanta and couldn't get to court. Woodward told Taylor that his client said he "just wanted to do the 10 days" for the June 2011 suspended license charge.

Vick, 28, is a former standout quarterback at Warwick High School and Virginia Tech and the brother of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.

In March, a Newport News judge ordered Marcus Vick to serve 10 days in jail on a contempt of court charge. The charge stemmed from Vick failing to appear in court twice for a 2010 driving on a suspended license charge.
