Robbers shoot delivery driver in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A delivery driver is fighting for his life after he was shot by two unknown suspects in Chesapeake Sunday night.

Chesapeake police spokesman Leo Kosinski said the victim was delivering Chinese food to the 2500 block of Malcolm Court when two black male suspects approached him, robbed him of an unknown amount of cash and shot him once in the abdomen. The suspects then fled on foot.

The victim drove a few blocks to the Solo gas station on Campostella Road where he called police. Medics arrived and took the driver to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with possible life-threatening injuries, Kosinski said.

The investigation into the shooting continues.
