Rumors and speculation have surfaced online claiming Dipset affiliate Vado may have a new deal in the works with DJ Khaled's We The Best record label.
Although sites have credited his Twitter page for breaking the news, Vado's alleged Khaled tweet is nowhere to be found as of Sunday (January 20) morning.
After announcing earlier this month that he had parted ways with his label home Interscope Records, Vado has reportedly inked a deal with DJ Khaled's, We The Best label. Last night, the frequent Cam'ron collaborator took to Twitter announcing, "Looks like I'm taking my talents 2 South Beach #WTB." Followed shortly thereafter by a retweet of a follower who typed, "@VADO_MH COMING OUT WITH HIS NEW TAPE AND SIGNING WITH KHALID #ITSAGOODYEAR." (XXL Mag)
Last May, Cash Money's Birdman announced Khaled's We The Best joined forces with his growing music empire.
"I'd like to let the world know that Khaled's brand, which is We the Best, is officially signed to YMCMB and the first act coming out that umbrella ... will be Ace Hood," Birdman said. "I always wanted to have a chance to work with Ace Hood. We wanted to do it right, set it up right. I think Ace Hood is a superstar. I love his work ethic, I think he's a very talented young man and he gonna be a big superstar in this business and I wanted to be the one to help him become that. It was important to me." (MTV)
Earlier this month, Vado denied getting the pink slip from Interscope Records.
"Never. I was never dropped. They gave me too much money. I walked off. They gave me the opportunity to leave so I left. They [weren't] helping me in no shape or form. For example, with Chief Keef, they just threw his album out there without even building it or nothing. Interscope is the type where you just got to do it on your own. So you know like, TDE is helping Kendrick, Game is doing everything on his own, from getting the features and beats and putting it out on his own, so it's sort of like play at your own risk over there. So I had to get back over here. I'm not over there on the West, I'm over here with people that's seen me grow up at these labels. This is where I wanna be and they want me here. [Was it a learning experience?] Yeah, most definitely. As far as for the haters, good talents like me can't be off the market for too long. You'll hear eventually, trust me." (XXL Mag)
